Description
2011 was a spectacular year for PROTOform in the 1/8th IC Nitro On-Road class. Not only did 8 A-Main finalists at the IFMAR WORLDS in Homestead Florida chose the P909 body, but the other 2 A-Main drivers chose the PROTOform R15, which ran the quickest lap times of the entire event. In the end, Robert Pietsch brought home the very deserving win and trophy.
We decided to incorporate what we felt were the best characteristics of these two world class bodies to create the PROTOform PFR18. Loosely modeled after the car that conquered the 24HR of LeMans, this body style has a few tricks of it's own as well. There are a couple more molded in body stiffening contours to make the body more consistent. The EFRA legal (#31525) body conforms to all ROAR/IFMAR body rules.
The PROTOform PFR18 offers superior downforce for low-grip surfaces. After Paul Lemieux won the 2012 ROAR Nats, he had this to say: "The PFR18's small, forward cockpit design keeps more air on the rear of the body. Mounted normally, it has amazing stability, or mounted slightly forward the body has a balance of more front and rear grip, resulting in great overall traction."
This body has a protective outer film, body side-stiffeners (w/hardware) and comes with a large PROTOform decal.
This is sold as a clear and unpainted body. Image of the painted body is only to display details. No vehicle chassis is included with this product.
