N700S is a new Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen train developed based on the conventional N700 series. A confirmation test vehicle of the same type was released in March 2018, and various tests were conducted. Mass-produced vehicles of the same type were manufactured based on the confirmation test vehicle, and operations began in July 2020, mainly on the Nozomi. For mass-produced cars, the front car's bogie cover and antenna shape have been changed.
