Description
The Team Associated RC10B84.1 Team Kit is the latest evolution of Team Associated's competition 1/10 scale 4WD buggy platform, developed for precision, adjustability and serious off-road racing.
The RC10B84.1 introduces a Wide Tongue chassis design for improved durability, together with revised V2 side rails and wider A and B suspension mounts. The chassis itself is manufactured from 2.5mm tapered 7075-T6 aluminium, featuring 10 degrees of kick-up and an improved departure angle.
At the front, new 73mm Gull Wing suspension arms work with a dedicated carbon fibre front shock tower designed specifically around the 73mm arm geometry. A moulded front shock tower cover adds protection, while the updated front bumper system includes an optional bumper that covers the anti-roll bar mounts.
Updated Steering System
The RC10B84.1 features V2 steering posts and bellcranks designed to reduce unwanted vertical movement in the steering rack.
The steering bellcranks and rack geometry have also been optimised to provide improved bump-steer control across different ride heights, helping maintain predictable steering characteristics as chassis setup changes.
Height-Adjustable Gearboxes
Moulded height-adjustable front and rear gearboxes provide additional drivetrain tuning options.
Team Associated also includes an additional +2 rear gearbox for high-grip conditions, allowing racers to adapt drivetrain geometry to different track surfaces.
Long HD rear differential outdrives and 66mm rear CVA bones are also included.
Decoupled Slipper Clutch
A key feature of the RC10B84.1 is the included decoupled slipper clutch.
This differentiates the RC10B84.1 from the RC10B84.1D, which uses a centre differential. The B84.1's slipper-equipped drivetrain provides racers with a different power-delivery and tuning configuration while retaining the extensive adjustability of the latest B84.1 platform.
Adjustable Chassis Flex
Upper and lower chassis bracing is provided at both the front and rear, allowing racers to fine-tune chassis flex for different surfaces and grip levels.
This gives drivers another way to alter the balance and response of the buggy without changing the fundamental suspension setup.
Extensive Suspension Geometry Adjustment
Both standard and HRC High Roll Centre rear hubs are included.
Insert-adjustable caster blocks are supplied with 0°, +1°, -1°, +2° and -2° inserts, providing a broad range of front suspension geometry options.
New 0.7mm A and D mount shims provide additional setup possibilities.
Adjustable Weight Distribution
The motor can be installed in forward or rearward positions, giving racers another method of adjusting weight bias.
The highly adjustable battery holder also allows battery position to be fine-tuned for chassis balance. Integrated thumb tabs make battery removal quick and convenient between runs.
